 1. What sets MVP Weddings apart from other wedding videography companies?

MVP Weddings focuses on 1) Producing the best quality product we possibly can, and 2) Excellent Customer Service. What that means is that we don't want to just shoot footage from your wedding day, we want to tell the story of who you are, how you fell in love, and the beauty of your relationship. We want to do it in a way that is cinematic and beautiful, and we want you to be exceedingly pleased with the result.

We want your video to feel like a feature film and for you and the viewer to be pulled into that story. Consequently we shoot footage using cinema techniques such as shooting on large sensor cameras with fast lenses to get beautiful close-ups with a shallow depth of field. We utilize steadicam camera stabilizers and dollies in addition to tripods to produce smooth camera movement (no shaky footage) that creates a very cinematic look and feel. We edit your footage in a way that is artistic and beautiful.

We also want to give you a tremendous amount of choice and control over the product you will receive - it's your wedding, and it's your video. We've designed our website to allow you to customize different wedding packages and build your own so you can instantly see how much the different options cost and what is involved. If you have any questions or you'd like any changes we want to adapt to your desires and make sure that you are satisfied above and beyond your expectations.

2. What is the difference between "cinematic" editing versus "documentary style" editing?

Cinematic editing entails choosing different shots, music, and other elements to tell a story and add emphasis, drama, etc. All of the videos on our sample video page are edited in this style. Typically our videos are cut together like a movie trailer - they aren't as long as the actual event, but integrate key highlights. For example, our ceremony highlight videos are typically around 10 minutes in length, even though the ceremony may have been 35 minutes in length. Also, in some cases like the Wedding Party Entrance or First Dance Highlight Video, the cinematic style video may be as long or longer than the actual event because we are editing in other footage from the day to illustrate the character of different members of your wedding party, or we are editing in different footage from the day that matches the lyrics of the song for the first dance and shows the bride and groom caring for each other, etc.

Documentary Style editing "documents" what happened. If the wedding ceremony was 35 minutes in length, then the documentary style video of that ceremony will be 35 minutes in length, changing between different camera angles to best show what happened. This is really nice when you want to relive the entire experience of the day moment for moment. The cinematic style video is fantastic for telling the story, experiencing emotion, and being able to share that story with others. The documentary video isn't something you'd typically ask your friends to sit down and watch (it's too long), but is a great record of the experience. You can choose either of these styles, or both, for your wedding video.

3. What is the "Create a Music Video" option?

If you'd like, you and your fiance can create a professional music video before the wedding to send to your friends and family and share your excitement about your upcoming marriage and wedding. You choose the song and the concept for the wedding video, we storyboard it and make sure you like it, then shoot it with you and your friends, edit it, and post it  - you can email a link to it, tweet it, post it on YouTube and/or your Facebook page. This a lot of fun.

4. What is a "Love Story"?

To create your "love story", we interview the bride and groom separately. We ask about how you met, what attracted you to each other, and how you fell in love. We find out what you love about each other. Then we use this footage and intersperse it with highlights from your wedding to tell your story. You can see an example of a Love Story teaser on our Sample Films page.

5. I'm on a tight budget - what can I do?

Our Cinematic Package starts at $2,500 and is really nice. However, not everyone's budget allows for that, so we give you the option to Build Your Own Package. You can save money if you'd like us to shoot all of the footage but you or a friend would like to edit the footage yourself. For this option prices start at $1,000. Or maybe you'd only like us to create one or two highlight videos, etc. If you have tried assembling your own package and things aren't fitting in your budget, contact us and we'll see what we can do.

6. When will we receive our wedding video?

We will provide you with a review copy of your wedding video no later than 4 months after we've 1) received all of your information about what package you'd like, etc. and 2) been paid for the second installment or your wedding package (usually before or on the day of your wedding). You'll have one week to review the edited videos and request any changes you'd like, and we'll give you a final draft within 2 weeks of receiving your change requests. Please note that we typically deliver the review copy much sooner than 4 months, but it will not be more than 4 months or we will reduce your price.

7. What if we want to change our video after we review it?

That is all part of the plan - we want you to be happy with your wedding video. When we give you the review copy of your wedding video, you have one week to review it and submit any change requests. We'll get the final video with your changes back to you within 2 weeks after that. If such changes require more than five hours of editing time, such extra time shall be billed at $100 per hour. Such changes must be requested by email or other written form, within one week of receipt of approval video.

 13. What are your terms and agreement - how do you define "hours of coverage", what if something comes up, etc.?

MVP Weddings Terms and Agreement:

"MVP Weddings" shall be referred to as “Studio” within this agreement.
TIME
Official time begins upon commencement of shooting (bride’s preparations, etc.), or one hour prior to the scheduled ceremony (when we setup our cameras, microphones, etc.), whichever is earliest, and time shall run continuously until departing the event location.
If the total job time exceeds the time contracted for, extra charges will apply at the rate of $150/hr, unless pre-planned and prepaid at $100/hr.

CANCELLATION
In the event of a postponement or cancellation of this contract, so long as a minimum of thirty days notice has been given to Studio, the deposits paid may be used for any future event up to one year past the date of this contract, providing Studio has no other obligations for the future date. After that time, all deposits will be forfeited to Studio.
If Client gives less than thirty days notice of cancellation or postponement, a $250 Cancellation Fee will be charged plus trip fees, if any trips have already been made.
If event is cancelled after Studio arrives at location on the date of the rehearsal or event, the deposit and payment of first half of total fee will be considered “earned”, but the last half of total (if already paid) will be refunded.
If for any reason the Studio is unable to fulfill it’s duty of being able to shoot the wedding video with two cameras on the day of the ceremony (medical emergency, etc.) the Client will be given the option to either 1) allow the Studio to hire additional videographers to shoot the footage on the wedding day, and then the Studio will edit the footage following the wedding as planned, or 2) the Client can receive a full refund of any money paid to the Studio and be released from any contractual obligations with the Studio.

CHANGES
The Client has had opportunity to critically view samples of the Studio’s video work and has retained the Studio as the exclusive official videographer to cover this event. The Client grants Studio full production and editorial control regarding all aspects of this production and postproduction.
Client will receive an approval copy of the wedding video no later than four months after receiving the wedding package selection, song requests, and second payment installment (usually the day of the wedding). Client may request one set of changes, upon receiving approval copy. If such changes require more than five hours of editing time, such extra time shall be billed at $100 per hour. Such changes must be requested by email or other written form, within one week of receipt of approval video.
Studio takes utmost care with respect to the exposure, sound capture, editing, duplication and delivery of the video products and services offered. However, in the event Studio fails to comply with the terms of this contract due to any event or act, the Studio’s liability is limited to the refund of monies paid to Studio.

PRODUCTION MATERIALS
The Studio must receive photos, invitations, music, checklists, and any other materials required for the completion of the production by wedding day. Production may proceed without such materials if not supplied by this time and Client agrees to accept the necessary changes in the production as a result.

Client warrants that he/she has the legal rights to anything the Studio will videotape, including photos, music or other materials supplied by the client for use in this video, and that use will be limited to viewing by friends and family.
Studio reserves the non-exclusive right to use the original video tape and/or reproductions for display, promotion, publication or any other purposes, and gives same rights to client. If client prefers exclusive rights, he agrees to pay an additional fee of $500 before the wedding date.
